A recently surfaced video showcases a U.S.-supplied High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), commonly known as a Humvee, outfitted with an array of roof-mounted antennas.

The standard Humvee serves primarily as a transport vehicle. According to the Bulgarian Military, the multiple antennas on the Humvees found in Ukraine suggest it has been retrofitted with equipment intended to intercept, jam, or disrupt electronic signals.

“This would be characteristic of an electronic warfare (EW) platform, aimed at disrupting enemy communications, radar systems, or GPS networks,” the online news outlet said.

Ukraine has received over 5,000 Humvees from the U.S., according to Militarnyi. Ukrainian military forces widely use these vehicles for combat missions and logistics in the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, as well as special units of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

According to the news outlet, Ukraine possess a significant number of specialized vehicles based on Humvees, including AN/TWQ-1 Avenger air defense systems, mobile anti-tank complexes with TOW launchers, APKWS-guided rocket launchers, and 105mm self-propelled howitzers based on the 2-CT Hawkeye system.

The first Humvees delivered to Ukraine were the M1097A2 variant, which the U.S. transferred in 2001.
