The Integrated Defense Operation, held on December 27, 2023, simulated a range of dangers, including drone attacks, special forces assaults, and gas leaks. The exercise aimed to enhance Seoul’s defenses against possible “terrorist threats” from North Korea. Notably, American troops did not participate in this drill, and it coincided with the one-year anniversary of a North Korean drone incursion into South Korean airspace.
