Russian drone strikes overnight hit multiple civilian sites as well as Ukraine’s critical railway and nuclear infrastructure, leaving at least four civilians dead and 25 wounded, regional authorities reported.
A Russian attack on railway infrastructure in Odesa Oblast injured one person, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksii Kuleba said. Governor Oleh Kiper added that the strike left 46,600 residents without power, with crews working to restore electricity.

Energy infrastructure was also hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said drone strikes on an electrical substation in Slavutych, Kyiv Oblast, cut centralized power to the town and caused a blackout of more than three hours at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

He added that the blackout at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has entered its eighth day after Russian shelling, and accused Russian forces of preventing Ukrainian specialists from restoring external power needed for the plant’s continuous operation.
Zelenskyy said Russia is deliberately targeting rail and energy networks to disrupt logistics and pressure Ukraine’s economy. The attacks come as Russia faces worsening fuel shortages, following Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries and other energy infrastructure.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 86 Shahed-type attack and decoy drones overnight. Air defenses shot down 53, while 31 reached targets across the country.
The overnight strikes also caused casualties across multiple regions. In Sumy Oblast, three people were wounded as Russian forces carried out 118 attacks on 43 settlements, Governor Oleh Hryhorov said. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a 73-year-old man was injured amid 587 strikes targeting 13 settlements, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.
In Kharkiv Oblast, one person was killed and 15 wounded as six settlements came under fire, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said. Donetsk Oblast saw one person killed and another injured, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.
Kherson Oblast reported two deaths and four injuries after a strike hit critical and social infrastructure, damaging an apartment building and 10 houses, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said.
