At the Dubai Airshow, the Russian arms industry showcased its weaponry, including those used in Ukraine, highlighting their technological advancements and self-sufficiency. The display featured combat helicopters, precision strike missiles, and surface-to-air missile systems, but the anticipated Argument-2 anti-drone gun was notably absent. The presence of Russian arms at the fair underlines Russia’s efforts to demonstrate its capabilities and sustainability in the defense sector amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Key Points:

  1. Exhibit Highlights: Russia’s pavilion at the Dubai Airshow prominently featured the KA-52E combat helicopter and the X-69 precision strike cruise missile, with five Russian agencies, including Almaz-Antey and Rostec, presenting their products.
  1. Missing Anti-Drone Gun: Rosoboronexport’s anticipated Argument-2 anti-drone gun, marketed for countering Ukrainian FPV drones, was absent from the exhibit, with no comment from the company representative.
  1. Russian Objective: The showcase aimed to demonstrate Russia’s ability to independently produce advanced technology, emphasizing its sustainability and self-sufficiency in the defense industry during the Ukraine war.
  1. UAE’s Stance: The United Arab Emirates has maintained a neutral position in the Ukraine conflict, balancing close ties with Russia and providing humanitarian aid to Kyiv.
  1. Expert Perspectives: Analysts and competitors in the defense industry view Russia’s participation in the airshow as a strategic move to assert its capabilities and resilience in the global arms market.
