On Sunday, the Russian Foreign Ministry made a formal request for Ukraine to extradite several individuals linked to terrorist activities in Russia. Among those named was the head of Ukraine’s SBU Security Service, Blamed by Russia for orchestrating attacks, including the significant assault on a bridge connecting Crimea to Russia. This demand extends to all persons Russia associates with terrorist acts within its borders.
In response, the SBU categorically dismissed the Russian request as “pointless,” emphasizing that such demands overlook the international arrest warrant issued against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement detailed several violent incidents that have occurred in Russia, attributing these to Ukrainian influence and direct action. This includes the March 22 attack on a concert hall outside Moscow, among other alleged attacks and assassinations on Russian territory attributed to Ukrainian operatives.
