President Putin accuses Ukraine of conducting a major drone strike on Moscow, claiming it was a terrorist act aimed at intimidating Russia and provoking a response.

On May 30, President Vladimir Putin of Russia claimed that Ukraine’s drone strikes on Moscow were aimed at scaring and provoking Russia. Russia reported that eight drones targeted civilian areas in Moscow but were either shot down or diverted with electronic jammers. Putin portrayed the attack as a terrorist response to Russia’s strike on Ukraine’s military intelligence headquarters. He stated that Ukraine was attempting to intimidate Russia and its citizens. In response, Russia announced plans to strengthen air defenses around Moscow. Ukrainian officials denied direct involvement in the attack but anticipated more incidents in the future.
