Polish special forces protected Ukrainian negotiators at early 2022 talks with Russia | Yahoo!

During Russia-Ukraine negotiations, Polish special troops protected Russian businessman Roman Abramovich, and Ukrainian delegates went to Belarus on a Black Hawk chopper from Poland’s GROM special forces unit. 

Polish special forces reportedly provided protection for Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich during Russia-Ukraine negotiations in the early weeks of the invasion, according to a report. Ukrainian delegates flew to Belarus on a Black Hawk helicopter from Poland’s GROM special forces unit, with the military commandant’s office from Lublinets already engaged in protecting them. Top Polish officials oversaw flights of Ukrainian delegates to Poland’s Brest from the Polish side. While the Polish guards gave a guarantee of safety, the risks were taken into account, including a possible threat to Polish military personnel. The involvement of Poland in the negotiations was hoped to encourage the Russians to start real talks.
