Thousands of Iranians received anonymous text messages on Monday stating that U.S. President Donald Trump is “a man of action,” Iranian state media reported. The messages, written in Farsi, reportedly addressed “the oppressed people of Iran” and urged recipients to wait.
The origin of the SMS campaign remains unconfirmed. Iran International reported that Iranian state media acknowledged the mass messages, though no official source has claimed responsibility for sending them, according to News18.

The messaging campaign coincides with renewed student protests across Iran and escalating U.S. military pressure on Tehran over its nuclear program. International and local news agencies reported that student protests have taken place at five universities in Tehran over the weekend.
The demonstrations mark the first significant unrest since security forces violently suppressed nationwide protests in January.
U.S. and Iranian negotiators are scheduled to hold a third round of indirect nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday. Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi confirmed the meeting on Sunday, stating talks would proceed with “a positive push to go the extra mile towards finalizing the deal.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed optimism to CBS News, stating a “good chance” exists for a diplomatic resolution as Tehran finalizes a comprehensive proposal for the upcoming Geneva negotiations.
Trump gave Iran a 10-to-15-day deadline last week to reach a deal. According to The Jerusalem Post, while the New York Times reported that Trump is weighing “a much bigger attack” that could target regime leadership if negotiations fail.
Iran warned Monday that any U.S. strike would be met with a “ferocious” response. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that even limited attacks would be considered acts of aggression.
Previous U.S. Messaging
The mass SMS campaign echoes previous U.S. government outreach to Iranian citizens. In January, the State Department’s Farsi-language social media account posted an image of Trump with the caption “Don’t play games with President Trump” and stated that “President Trump is a man of action.”
