Lockheed Martin to Develop High Energy Laser Weapon Systems

Three U.S. companies have been awarded various contracts related to military technology and research. Teledyne FLIR Surveillance Inc. will provide support for an Electro-Optical Infra-Red Imaging System for USSOCOM.

Three U.S. companies have been awarded various contracts related to military technology and research. Teledyne FLIR Surveillance Inc. will provide support for an Electro-Optical Infra-Red Imaging System for USSOCOM. IT Mentor Group, Inc. is tasked with researching and developing CBRN threat mitigation and defeat capabilities. Lockheed Martin Aculight Corp. is to develop and test high-energy laser weapon systems for the Army.
  

Key Points: 

  1. Teledyne FLIR Surveillance Inc. has secured an $8.3 million contract to offer support for the AN/ZSQ-3 Electro-Optical Infra-Red Imaging System, with most work being done in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, set to be completed by June 30, 2028.
  2. IT Mentor Group, Inc. was awarded a $19.3 million contract focusing on research, development, and demonstration of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threat mitigation. The work is anticipated to be completed by October 19, 2028, in Poway, California, and at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
  3. Lockheed Martin Aculight Corp. received an agreement worth up to $220.8 million to work on the Indirect Fire Protection Capability-High Energy Laser prototype weapon systems. The projected completion date is October 18, 2025, with work spread across several states including Washington, New Jersey, New York, Florida, California, and Alabama.
