Ongoing developments in the Russia-Ukraine conflict include changes in control of a village, an explosion in occupied Crimea, denial of Chinese weapons aid, and statements from Canada and the US; Norway has delivered tanks to Ukraine and Putin hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Kremlin.

The Ukrainian village of Bohorodychne in Donetsk has changed hands 14 times between Ukrainian and Russian forces, according to residents. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defense ministry said an explosion in Dzhankoi in occupied Crimea had destroyed Russian Kalibr cruise missiles during rail transit. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate has no evidence of China providing Russia with weapons, according to a spokesperson, despite reports that Chinese companies exported equipment to Russian entities. Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland has urged China to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty, while the White House has called on Chinese President Xi Jinping to do the same. Norway has delivered eight Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, and Vladimir Putin dined with Xi Jinping in the Kremlin.
