Jim Arrington, the world’s oldest professional bodybuilder at age 90, is still competing and shows no signs of stopping. Born premature and suffering from various health issues as a child, he began bodybuilding in the 1940s and has become a fixture at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach. One of the secrets to his continued success is his ability to listen to his body and adapt his training routine and diet accordingly. He also draws inspiration from winning competitions, breaking world records, and inspiring others.

Key Points:

  1. Jim Arrington began bodybuilding as a teenager and has continued for over seven decades, now holding the record for the oldest professional bodybuilder at age 90.
  2. Arrington credits his longevity in the sport to his ability to adapt his training routines as he ages, recognizing that what works at one age may not work at another.
  3. Initially following an “old style” diet with large amounts of milk and beef, he later changed his diet completely, recognizing that these foods led to inflammation and could hinder his ability to continue training.
  4. 4. Beyond the personal success and satisfaction, Arrington’s achievements have opened new opportunities for him, and he takes particular joy in inspiring others in their fitness journeys.
