The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck command centers belonging to the Basij paramilitary force and Iran’s internal security apparatus on Wednesday, targeting sites the Israeli military says the regime used to suppress protests and maintain domestic control.
“The targeted command centers were used by the Iranian regime to maintain control throughout Iran,” the IDF stated. The strikes dropped dozens of munitions on headquarters belonging to the Basij, a volunteer paramilitary militia under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that led violent crackdowns on civilian demonstrators during the January protests.

Plans for Khamenei’s funeral were postponed Wednesday as explosions continued across Tehran, Iranian state media reported.
