On Monday, the Israel Police published body camera footage showing the Yamam counter-terrorism unit and Shin Bet agents rescuing hostages Shlomi Ziv, Andrey Kozlov, and Almog Meir Jan from captivity in central Gaza’s Nuseirat. The video captures numerous firefights before the forces entered the building where the hostages were held by Hamas terrorist Abdallah Aljamal.
The footage shows Yamam officers storming Aljamal’s home, calling out in Hebrew to locate the hostages. Once inside, they find Meir Jan, Kozlov, and Ziv cowering amid heavy gunfire and explosions. “Hebrew, Hebrew, where is everyone?” a Yamam officer shouts, followed by another officer identifying the hostages. “We’ve come to save you,” a soldier tells them, attempting to reassure the hostages with a fist bump.
