Israeli forces killed Hamas commander Issar Sa’adi in the West Bank city of Jenin early Tuesday, as part of an ongoing military operation against militant groups in the area. The raid, carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Border Police, also resulted in the deaths of two other militants and the arrest of three more Hamas operatives, according to Israeli authorities.
The operation was based on intelligence provided by Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, which located Sa’adi’s hiding place in Jenin. IDF troops, supported by Border Police officers, entered the area using “Eitan” armored personnel carriers.

During the raid, Israeli forces surrounded a building where Sa’adi was hiding. A gunfight broke out, resulting in the deaths of Sa’adi and another Hamas operative. The IDF reported finding an M-16 rifle, a pistol, and other weapons in the building. A separate clash in the same area led to the death of another armed militant.

The killing of Sa’adi is part of a broader Israeli military campaign targeting militant strongholds in the West Bank. In recent weeks, the IDF has expanded its Operation Iron Wall, a large-scale military initiative launched in January targeting the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem with the goal of eradicating terrorism in the region.
As part of the next phase of the Operation Iron Wall, the Israeli government has approved plans to establish permanent IDF outposts in refugee camps to prevent militants from regrouping. The IDF has been ordered to maintain its presence in Jenin and Tulkarm until further notice, continuing operations to dismantle terrorist infrastructure.
According to the IDF, in February, the Operation Iron Wall successfully neutralized 25 militants, including key figures such as arms dealers and bomb makers. Additionally, approximately 350 individuals were apprehended, and 120 firearms were seized.
