Israel bombed the Yemeni capital Sanaa and al-Jawf province on Wednesday, killing 35 people and wounding 131, according to the Houthi-run Health Ministry.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said fighter jets hit Houthi army camps, a propaganda headquarters, and a fuel depot used for military operations.

It described the attack as retaliation for repeated Houthi strikes. On Sunday, a drone launched from Yemen hit Ramon International Airport in Israel, injuring passengers and briefly closing Israeli airspace.
A Houthi spokesman rejected the IDF’s account, saying the strikes hit civilian sites. He added that the offices of two newspapers and residential areas were among the targets, claiming that journalists and bystanders were killed or injured.
Al-Araby television reported that the Finance and Defense ministries in central Sanaa were struck. Reuters reported that the Defense Ministry compound also sustained damage.
Casualty figures from Wednesday’s strikes could not be independently verified, and the scale of damage remains unclear as of this writing.
The recent Israeli strike followed an August 30 attack in Sanaa that killed Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi.
On Tuesday, Israel also carried out a strike in Doha targeting senior leaders of the Hamas terrorist organization. Among the dead were the son of senior Hamas leader Dr. Khalil al-Hayya and one of his aides. Al-Hayya, reportedly the main target, survived, according to Hamas.
