Overnight on Thursday, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) launched airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, according to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday. The strikes were aimed at a Hezbollah command center located in the Hanaouay area, as well as additional militant infrastructure in the Ayta ash Shab region.
The IAF also targeted a rocket launcher in Ayta ash Shab, identified as the source of rockets fired into northern Israel on Thursday. These rockets landed in open areas near Biranit, a town in the upper Galilee, without causing any injuries.
Earlier on Friday, warning sirens sounded in the northern Israeli towns of Manara and Kiryat Shmona, following the detection of several projectiles crossing from Lebanon into Israel. These projectiles also landed in open areas, with no injuries reported.
These airstrikes are part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to counter Hezbollah’s activities along the border, responding to recent cross-border attacks and aiming to disrupt the group’s military capabilities in the region. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to exchange fire, reflecting the persistent instability along the Israeli-Lebanese border.
