The Israeli military conducted airstrikes across multiple areas of Lebanon on Friday, targeting what it said was a training compound used by Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force along with weapons depots and military infrastructure.
The strikes hit targets in northern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley near the town of Hermel, roughly 87 miles from the Israeli border, as well as sites in the Nabatiyeh and Jezzine districts in the south, according to the Israel Defense Forces and Lebanon’s National News Agency.

The IDF said the Radwan Force compound was used for training operatives, conducting live-fire drills and planning attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
“The targets that were struck and the military training conducted by Hezbollah constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and pose a threat to the State of Israel,” the military said in a statement.
The IDF said it struck approximately 15 Hezbollah targets in southern and central Lebanon and more than 10 military sites north of the Litani River. Casualty figures were not immediately available.

Friday’s operation came less than a week before a year-end deadline for Hezbollah’s disarmament south of the Litani River, approximately 19 miles from the Israeli border. Under U.S. pressure, Lebanon committed to completing disarmament by the end of December, though doubts remain about whether the timeline can be met.
Israel has threatened to resume military operations if the disarmament process is not completed on schedule.
The strikes followed a similar Israeli operation a day earlier in the Housh al-Sayyid Ali area. Since the November 2024 ceasefire took effect, Israel has conducted near-daily strikes across Lebanon, saying it is targeting Hezbollah members and infrastructure to prevent the group from rebuilding its military capabilities.
An Israeli drone strike hit a vehicle on a road leading to the border town of Housh al-Sayyid Ali in Lebanon’s Hermel area, killing two people.

The IDF said it has killed more than 390 Hezbollah operatives and members of allied groups since the ceasefire began, struck hundreds of targets and conducted over 1,200 raids and smaller operations in southern Lebanon. The military said the ceasefire terms allow it to act against threats and rearmament efforts.
