The Israeli Air Force (IAF) struck Iranian gas infrastructure in the country’s south on Wednesday, Iranian state media reported.
According to the report, the recent strikes targeted Iran’s South Pars natural gas field in Bushehr Province. The Israeli military did not issue an immediate statement about the strikes, but an Israeli official confirmed to The Times of Israel that the IAF carried out the operation.
Iran’s Fars news agency reported that gas tanks and parts of a refinery were damaged, workers had been evacuated, and emergency crews were attempting to extinguish the fire. State media later said the blaze was under control.

A U.S. defense official told Axios that the South Pars attack was coordinated with and approved by Washington.
The strikes marked the first time Israel has attacked natural gas facilities in Iran during the ongoing U.S.-Israeli campaign. Over the weekend, the U.S. struck Iran’s oil export hub on Kharg Island, though it said it targeted only military sites.
Gulf nations condemned the U.S.–Israeli strikes, calling them “dangerous and irresponsible.”
Following the strikes, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps vowed retaliation against energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Iranian state media identified targets including Saudi Arabia’s Samref refinery and Jubail petrochemical complex, the UAE’s al-Hosn gasfield, and Qatar’s Mesaieed petrochemical complex and Ras Laffan refinery.
Several hours later, Iran launched a missile strike on Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, hitting energy facilities. QatarEnergy said in a statement that the attack caused “extensive damage” but reported no casualties.
