Israeli fighter jets struck key nuclear and military sites across Iran, including a centrifuge production facility in Tehran that Israeli officials say is vital to the country’s uranium enrichment program.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that more than 50 fighter jets conducted the overnight operation near the Iranian capital.

“The Iranian regime is enriching uranium intended for the development of nuclear weapons. It should be emphasized that nuclear development for civilian use does not require enrichment at these levels,” the IDF wrote on X.

On Wednesday, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli forces had also destroyed Iran’s police headquarters in Tehran, as the IDF continued to intensify strikes across the country for a sixth consecutive day.

“Air Force jets have now destroyed the Iranian regime’s Internal Security Headquarters – the Iranian dictator’s central repressive arm,” Katz wrote on X. “As we promised – we will continue to harm symbols of government and strike at the Ayatollah regime everywhere.”

Additional strikes on Wednesday hit missile and air defense production facilities, as well as nuclear weapons research and development centers. “These sites fuel Iran’s weapons program and attacks on Israeli civilians. The IDF will continue targeting threats to defend Israeli civilians,” the IDF said.

According to IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, Israel has carried out over 1,100 strikes since the campaign began last Friday, with the goal of dismantling Iran’s nuclear program and degrading its missile and air defense capabilities.

According to Reuters, since Friday, Israeli airstrikes have significantly damaged Tehran’s nuclear program by damaging key sites at Natanz and Isfahan, including uranium enrichment and conversion facilities.

Centrifuge factories in Karaj were also targeted, and at least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed.

Meanwhile, in a public address on Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected calls from the United States to surrender. He warned that any American military involvement would bring what he called “irreparable damage.”

His remarks came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump called for Iran’s unconditional surrender and hinted at increased U.S. engagement in the conflict.

Iranian media reported on Wednesday that Israeli airstrikes across Tehran and other areas have killed 585 people and injured at least 1,326 since the attacks began last week. Meanwhile, Israeli officials said Iranian missile attacks have killed at least 24 people and wounded hundreds more.
