The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in collaboration with the Shin Bet intelligence agency, successfully targeted and eliminated Bilal Nofal, a senior Hamas official known for his role in interrogating suspects of espionage in the Gaza Strip. The operation was executed using an Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft.

Nofal was not only pivotal in conducting counter-espionage activities but also played a crucial role in advancing Hamas’ research and development processes. His responsibilities included the development of organizational learning methods, enhancing Hamas’ ability to adapt and evolve in its operational tactics. The IDF has highlighted that Nofal’s elimination significantly impairs Hamas’ capacity to develop and fortify its intelligence and operational competencies.
