Hezbollah struck an Iron Dome launcher near the Jal al-Allam site on the Israeli-Lebanese border on May 7 using a first-person view (FPV) drone. It then executed a second strike against the IDF replacement crew and a new launcher as it was being unloaded, according to footage the group released Sunday.

Al-Manar, Hezbollah’s official media outlet, stated that fighters targeted “an Iron Dome platform newly established near the Jal al-Allam site” at 14:45 on May 7. The footage, shows an FPV drone approaching the launcher with IDF soldiers nearby. The IDF had not previously acknowledged any damage to the system and did not comment Sunday.

The double-tap sequence mirrors a tactic documented in the Ukraine conflict, where operators surveil a strike site to target incoming repair crews. The IDF confirmed two soldiers were wounded by a drone in Israeli territory on May 8 but did not link the incident to the footage.
Hezbollah’s FPV drones are guided by a fiber-optic cable, making them immune to electronic jamming. The IDF said it was pushing thousands of meters of fishing nets to units in southern Lebanon and deploying the Iron Drone Raider System, a net-launching interceptor drone, experimentally.
The attack was not Hezbollah’s first claim against Iron Dome infrastructure. The group used an Almas anti-tank guided missile at Ramot Naftali in June 2024 and released footage it said showed a direct hit. Israeli authorities later determined the target was a training mock-up. The IDF issued no comparable denial following May 7.

The IDF said weekend strikes killed more than 10 Hezbollah operatives and hit more than 40 sites across southern Lebanon. Lebanon and Israel are scheduled to hold a third round of direct talks in Washington on Thursday, with military representatives included in both delegations for the first time.
