In a recent incident, the armed wing of Hamas claimed to have repelled an Israeli special forces’ hostage rescue attempt in the Gaza Strip. According to Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades, they engaged the special forces unit during the rescue operation, resulting in casualties among the soldiers. Additionally, a captive Israeli soldier named Sa’ar Baruch, who was seized during a cross-border incident in October, was reported to have been killed in the operation. Israel has not provided an official comment on the matter, accusing Hamas of engaging in psychological warfare.
