Thick fog in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk has hindered aerial reconnaissance and open-area strikes, allowing Moscow to push deeper into the key eastern transport hub, the 7th Airborne Assault Corps reported.
Videos posted online show a convoy of soldiers on motorbikes, with others riding on a battered truck, moving through fog.

Ukraine’s military said about 300 Russian soldiers were now inside Pokrovsk and that Moscow had stepped up efforts over the past few days to send reinforcements. “Their goal remains unchanged – to reach the northern edges of Pokrovsk and eventually encircle the urban area,” the 7th Airborne Assault Corps said.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the situation in Pokrovsk as difficult, noting that weather conditions have favored attacks, but said Ukrainian forces are continuing to repel the Russians.
Since the start of November, Ukrainian forces have killed 162 Russian soldiers in Pokrovsk, with another 39 wounded.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported on Tuesday that Russian forces have advanced into Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast. Ukraine’s top commander, Oleksandr Syrskyi, also said that Russian troops were taking advantage of foggy conditions to infiltrate positions in Zaporizhzhia.
“The situation has significantly worsened in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole directions, where, using its numerical superiority in personnel and materiel, the enemy advanced in fierce fighting and captured three settlements,” Syrskyi wrote on Telegram.
He said Ukrainian troops were engaged in “exhausting battles” for two villages northeast of Huliaipole.
