Israeli forces struck another high rise building in Gaza City on Sunday after ordering residents to evacuate.
It was the latest in a series of high-rise demolitions as Israel pressed civilians to leave Gaza City ahead of an expanded ground offensive.
Reports said the Al-Ruya Tower was hit twice before it collapsed. According to Haaretz, the building housed several media outlets, including the Qatar-based channel Al-Araby.
In a post on X, the Israel Defense Forces said the building is being used by Hamas in its operations: “The building was used to plant explosives, install intelligence-gathering equipment, and position observation posts.”

The strike on Al-Ruya came after Israel targeted the 12-story Mushtaha Tower on Friday and the 15-story Soussi Tower on Saturday, wounding several Palestinians sheltering in nearby tent encampments.

The recent strike coincided with a new U.S. ceasefire proposal which outlined the release of all 48 remaining hostages in exchange for 3,000 Palestinian prisoners and a temporary ceasefire.
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said Israel accepted the proposal, while Hamas announced it was ready to “immediately sit at the negotiating table.”
Gaza’s Health Ministry said 65 people were killed by Israeli fire over the past 24 hours and another 320 wounded. It reports more than 64,500 Palestinians have died since October 2023, about half women and children.
