Four people were killed and 21 injured after a Russian drone attack hit the city of Dnipro late Friday, Ukrainian officials said.

According to Serhiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, over 20 drones targeted the city. Most were shot down, but several struck buildings, including a hotel, a restaurant complex, and a high-rise apartment block. Fires broke out across nearly 10 private homes.

Thirteen people are still hospitalized, three in serious condition. Emergency services have since contained the fires.

A separate strike early Saturday hit Kryvyi Rih, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s hometown, injuring seven people and damaging homes, a school, and other buildings, local official Oleksandr Vilkul said.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched  more than 170 drones overnight. Of those, 94 were shot down, 69 missed their targets, and the remaining drones struck regions including Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy.

The attack comes days after Russia and Ukraine agreed to a temporary ceasefire on energy infrastructure and military operations in the Black Sea.

Zelenskyy accused Russia of violating the agreement and undermining the “world’s peace efforts.”

“Russia mocks the world’s peace efforts – dragging out the war and committing these acts of terror because it still doesn’t feel real pressure. Diplomacy can work, but only when backed by actions that strengthen our warriors and deprive the occupiers of the resources to wage war,” Zelenskyy said in his post on X.

Throughout last evening and night, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 170 drones, including over 100 Shaheds. This massive attack targeted the Dnipro, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on Russian oil if he determines that Russia is hindering the progress of peace talks.

“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump told NBC News.

Trump made the statement after Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday proposed the creation of a transitional government in Ukraine, a move that could potentially oust Zelenskyy from power.

According to NBC News, Trump said he was “pissed off” and “very angry” over Putin’s fixation on Zelenskyy and his continued efforts to restructure Ukraine’s leadership. The U.S. president said that he plans to speak with Putin again in the near future to address the situation.
