Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR) has announced an expanded contract with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to provide advanced software solutions supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) worldwide.

The one-year agreement, valued at $36.8 million, positions Palantir as the lead software integrator for USSOCOM’s Mission Command System and introduces new AI-driven tools to enhance battlefield decision-making and operational efficiency.

The expanded contract centers around Palantir’s Mission Manager platform, a secure and Kubernetes-based software infrastructure that enables the U.S. military to integrate emerging commercial technologies into secure operational environments.

For the first time, Palantir’s Mission Manager will be deployed at scale for SOF units, providing a streamlined system to onboard, share, and utilize mission-critical data. The platform supports operations in various environments, including connected, disconnected, cloud, and edge settings, ensuring flexibility and resilience during missions.

Palantir’s software suite facilitates faster decision-making by allowing operators to integrate and analyze data from multiple commercial vendors within a single secure framework. This approach improves situational awareness, risk assessment, and readiness for military personnel, enabling efficient responses to evolving threats.

Additionally, the system allows SOF units to connect with third-party applications and advanced functionalities while maintaining compliance with the U.S. government’s strict security standards.

Akash Jain, President of Palantir USG, emphasized the significance of USSOCOM’s adoption of advanced technologies. “USSOCOM continues to be at the forefront of adopting emergent technology, and we are looking forward to this new stage of our long-time partnership,” Jain said.

The expanded partnership also includes pilot projects to integrate Palantir’s advanced AI capabilities across USSOCOM’s broader operations. These initiatives aim to improve operational performance by analyzing vast amounts of data in real-time and streamlining workflows for commanders and personnel.

The announcement comes as the U.S. military continues its efforts to modernize operations through initiatives like the Joint All-Domain Command and Control program, which focuses on real-time data sharing and decision-making across military branches.

Following the announcement, shares of Palantir Technologies rose over 7% on Monday morning.
