A Ukrainian missile strike reportedly targeted a space radar station in Crimea, using U.S.-supplied ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) missiles. The attack, which occurred on Thursday evening, was reported by the local Crimean Wind Telegram channel. At least six missiles hit a communications center used by Russian forces, damaging a radio antenna of a space observation station.

The Krym Realii news outlet, part of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, reported that explosions were heard in multiple areas across Crimea, including six in Simferopol and eight near the Belbek airfield, a significant Russian military base.

Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that it intercepted three ATACMS missiles over Crimea and destroyed several Ukrainian naval drones heading towards the peninsula. Despite these claims, reports from the ground suggest significant damage to military installations.

The pro-Ukrainian partisan group Atesh claimed the strike caused “significant damage” to communications equipment and reported casualties among Russian forces. The group also indicated that a large military antenna in Semydviria, near Alushta, was hit. This antenna had previously been used by Ukraine before Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
