Soldiers at Fort Moore undergo rigorous training in the Ranger Selection and Assessment Program 1 (RASP 1) to earn a coveted spot in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. The course, spanning eight weeks, pushes candidates to their limits, physically and mentally. Only a fraction of the over 1,000 soldiers who attempt it each year succeed, but those who do join a prestigious unit with a history of valor and excellence. The program emphasizes attributes like teamwork, dedication, and resilience, and it seeks individuals who possess the qualities of integrity, courage, perseverance, and professionalism. Additionally, the physically demanding training helps prepare Rangers to excel in combat situations, ensuring they can succeed in the most challenging conditions. Beyond RASP 1, there is a second phase, RASP 2, designed to validate the skills of soldiers seeking leadership roles in the Ranger Regiment, focusing on decision-making under stress and further maintaining the unit’s elite standards.
