President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Viktor Khorenko as the new Special Operations Forces (SOF) commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, following Hryhorii Halahan.Â
Viktor Khorenko has been named the new leader of the Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces (SOF) by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the past, Khorenko oversaw the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry’s special reserve as its commander. Hryhorii Halahan, who was fired earlier on Monday, is replaced by him. Iryna Venediktova, the prosecutor general, and Ivan Bakanov, the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, were recently fired after Zelensky accused them of not doing enough to deal with traitors within their organizations. On the presidential website, the decree was made public.Â
