With the United States’ latest exit from Afghanistan and Russia’s second military presence on Ukraine’s border this year, the United States and its allies are refocusing their efforts. However, as the Western worldview shifts, strategists must not disregard lessons learned from Middle Eastern wars that can be applied to the next phase of warfare.

These advancements include the Austere Resuscitation and Surgical Care (ARSC) teams, which are America’s most agile medical units.
