Aviel Ginzburg has been dividing his time between attending to his farm and fielding calls from company founders. But following an impulsive real estate purchase, the self-described “city kid” recently chose to add farming to his résumé. Ginzburg and his wife had made jokes about buying property in Southern Oregon, but when they came across a listing that met all their criteria, they decided to take the plunge. Their 40-acre estate boasts a variety of amenities, including a flower garden, alfalfa field, vineyard, and horse stables. Ginzburg co-founded a social media analytics startup that was bought out in 2017 and created a new business called Double Dinosaur Farm, reigniting his passion for entrepreneurship. Ginzburg is not the only computer veteran who seeks business advice outside of the work environment. According to a recent article in The Information, Mark Zuckerberg and other leaders in Silicon Valley are using martial arts as a new way to approach business and competitiveness while also honing their discipline and machismo.
