“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” | Military times

Must Read

The events of July 7, 1947, in Roswell, New Mexico, and later in the 1950s at the Nevada Test and Training Range just outside of Las Vegas were widely reported.

Collective American awareness gained traction as undeniable evidence of extraterrestrials, sparking the “Roswell Incident” and “Area 51” government conspiracies. The Smithsonian claims that on July 8, 1947, the Roswell Daily Record published information on a “flying saucer.” trHigh-altitude balloons equipped with sensors and radar detectors were used as part of Project Mogul to scan the upper atmosphere for traces of reverberations from nuclear test blasts. An NSA report from 1994 appeared to validate this, rather than an Army cover-up involving aliens.
