New research has discovered that sounds employees are exposed to can have impact on the emotional state and quality of work. Before the pandemic, majority of office employees worked in an open office environment, filled with a plethora of noise, and most of it distracting. Loud group meetings, phone calls, and clicking of keyboards don’t encourage laser focus and a relaxing state of mind. As one could imagine, there seems to be link between interruption free environment and productivity. Employers should utilize private areas, which can be easily created by utilizing “white noise” to block out acoustic interruptions.
