Must Read

Senior Chief Damage Controlman (DCCS) Brad Thoma is a recruiting scout who has been working at Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Carolina since 2021. He is currently assigned to Navy Special Warfare/ Navy Special Operations (NSW/NSO).

He has five years of experience working with Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT), a unit of the Coast Guard, so this is not his first time collaborating with people who choose the next generation of elite trained warriors. DCCS Thoma, a native of Muskegon, Michigan, has served in the military for 24 years and has chosen to transition into recruiting in order to be nearer to his family. Thoma stated, “When I first arrived in Carolina, I wanted to ensure that I could fully support the command. I had the thinking, “I love to work out, go at a fast speed, and push individuals to their full capacity,” when it was suggested to me that I may assist with the Navy Special Warfare/Navy Special Operation (NSW/NSO) side of things. When asked what qualities you seek in candidates for the warrior challenge, Thoma responded, “A Navy Seal expressed it well in a meeting we held at North Carolina State, he said, “the difference between being a seal and not being a seal is that he is a common man with an exceptional drive.
