A clinic Patient Advocate had arrested for punching a Vietnam Veteran.
The patient advocate at a VA clinic, Lawrence F. Gaillard Jr., was arrested and charged with criminal assault. A 73-year-old Vietnam veteran named Phillip Webb was strangled, body-slammed, and thrown to the ground. WSB-TV said that Webb was hospitalized for three days due to a “brain bleed.” Webb told a local TV station, “He was Mike Tyson-ing me there.” Webb claims he knocked on the waiting room door to inform Gaillard that he was going to use the restroom. Due to jurisdictional concerns, the case has been transferred to the district attorney’s office for Fulton County. The VA has confirmed that Gaillard Jr is still employed.
I’ve obtained by FOIA surveillance video of the brutal beating of elderly Vietnam vet by a VA employee at an Atlanta VA clinic. @2Investigates was 1st to report on the attack last month. The attacker, Lawrence Gaillard is still employed by VA. @wsbtv at 6https://t.co/oLCyCNa8ea pic.twitter.com/A87YTvSK2q
