According to her, disease researchers at the Department of Veterans Affairs immediately started internal discussions on how to prepare for the war-related illnesses they knew would follow right after the 9/11 attacks. This revelation has angered veterans who have been convincing the agency for years that their illnesses were linked to their service overseas.
