The U.S. Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS Carney has once again intercepted a swarm of drones launched from Yemen, believed to be under the control of Houthi rebels, in the Red Sea. This engagement followed Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the region, with a missile hitting the Liberian-flagged MV Palatium 3, prompting the USS Mason to respond. While there have been ongoing efforts to establish a coalition task force to patrol the Red Sea and secure shipping lanes, no formal announcements have been made, and shipping companies are considering alternative routes due to rising attacks in the area.
