Polaris designed a package to safeguard MRZR Alphas under the worst situations.
Polaris has produced an Arctic conversion kit for the MRZR Alpha. The kit contains rails instead of wheels and a cab that shields riders from the elements. The U.S. Special Operations Command will decide how many kits to purchase at the beginning of the following year. In 2021, the Army announced a plan for operations in the area.
The kit contains a polycarbonate windshield with a hard coating, a roof, and a rear panel. The doors are steel constructions with a paintable exterior, allowing them to be concealed in various situations. The kit also has a defroster, windshield wipers, and a spray for wiping the front windshield of debris. This week, the equipment will be shown at the SOFIC conference for special operations in Florida.
