Special operators in the US Air Force converted cargo aircraft into bombers.
They are currently training other military on how to do it. To get ready for a fight with a strong adversary, the US Air Force is creating new ways to employ its planes. Repurposing its larger aircraft, like as cargo planes and tankers, for other tasks has been a significant component of that initiative. Together with other airmen and experts, US Air Force Special Operations Command has been developing ways to allow its MC-130J workhorse transport plane to drop pallets of long-range cruise missiles. MC-130Js and other US freight aircraft can operate from a wider variety of airfields than bombers, which should make it harder for an adversary to launch long-range missiles.
