Ukrainian Soldiers Reinvest Salaries into Armed Forces Through Charity Auctions | Kyiv Post

Must Read

Through charity auctions they attend while away from the front lines, Ukrainian soldiers are reinvesting their own salaries back into the military forces for which they fight.

The cop, known as “The Nine,” brought a t-shirt from the Kraków Hard Rock Cafe for the auction and bought a KISS jacket for his daughter. Since 2015, Sonya Sotnyk, a well-known anchor of the Kamtugeza morning show on the ROKS radio station, has produced NaShapku, a weekly event. NaShapku, which is Ukrainian for “into the hat,” refers to the custom of street musicians begging for money. Sotnyk concentrated mainly on assisting disabled refugee children as well as those who required palliative care, and all the funds received were used to assist them.
