Since 2015, Sonya Sotnyk, a well-known anchor of the Kamtugeza morning show on the ROKS radio station, has produced NaShapku, a weekly event. NaShapku, which is Ukrainian for “into the hat,” refers to the custom of street musicians begging for money. Sotnyk concentrated mainly on assisting disabled refugee children as well as those who required palliative care, and all the funds received were used to assist them.
