Ukrainian soldiers come to Minnesota for prosthetics — and then return to the fight | Fox 9

Dmytro, a 25-year-old member of the Ukrainian Special Operation Forces from the Mykolaiv region, He enlisted in the Ukrainian military in 2014, he is one of 22 troops who have received prosthetic limbs from the Protez Foundation in Minnesota. 

 Dmytro stepped on a landmine in July while out on patrol with his battalion. Through social media, he learned about Protez, but at first, he was hesitant to apply. Even though the foundation pays for patients’ airfare, accommodation, and medical care, going to the United States for treatment didn’t seem like a practical choice. Dmytro’s desire to continue serving in the military after receiving a prosthetic is motivated by a feeling of duty and responsibility
