Overnight Ukrainian drone strikes on January 24, 2025, disrupted infrastructure in Russia, including the Kremniy El microchip plant in Bryansk and the Ryazan oil refinery southeast of Moscow. The attacks, one of Ukraine’s largest drone operations since the war began, involved at least 121 drones targeting 13 regions, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry.
In Bryansk, six drones struck the Kremniy El plant, which produces microelectronics reportedly used in Russian weapons systems. The attack forced the plant to halt production, with emergency crews responding to the damage.
Moments ago, Ukrainian attack drones successfully struck Russia’s second largest microelectronics manufacturer, the JSC Gruppa Kremniy El plant in Bryansk.

In Ryazan, drones caused a fire at one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. A 20,000-ton oil storage tank was set ablaze, and critical equipment, including a railway loading rack and a hydrotreater unit, was damaged. The refinery, which processes 13.1 million metric tons of oil annually, supplies gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, including fuel for military use. Videos verified by news outlets showed large fires and explosions at the site.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that air defenses intercepted and destroyed most of the drones, including 20 targeting Ryazan. However, the attacks caused significant damage. Flights at Moscow airports were temporarily disrupted, and some regions reported power outages due to the strikes.
Ukrainian officials confirmed the strikes, calling them part of a strategy to target Russia’s military supply chain. The Ryazan refinery is considered a critical facility for producing fuel used in Russia’s military operations.
