A Russian soldier will testify in Ukraine’s first trial for war crimes related to Moscow’s continuing assault. Vadim Shyshimarin has been accused of murdering a 62-year-old unarmed citizen. He reportedly fired an automatic weapon from a vehicle window at the civilian to prevent him from informing Ukrainian authorities about troop positioning. Venediktova did not specify how he ended up in Ukrainian custody or what happened to the others involved in the alleged murder.
