Ukraine makes clear the US must reconsider its one-war defense strategy | Mark Gunzinger and Kamilla Gunzinger

The US Air Force presently has around half the number of aircraft in 1991, while the Navy lacks sufficient ships, carrier aircraft, and submarine troops. A two-war force would be more inexpensive if the Department of Defense exercised some restraint and reduced duplicate and expensive capabilities expenditures. The following National Defense Approach should recognize that a “China First” strategy is, in fact, a China-only strategy.
