U.S. Navy wants to buy new special surface craft | Defense Blog

In a notice issued by the Federal Opportunities, the U.S. Navy has announced its plans to buy as many as 110 special surface craft for Naval Special Warfare Command (NAVSPECWARCOM) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) shore-based Units. These special surface crafts come in 8 meters and 11 meters long and are planned to replace the legacy 33-ft SPC-LEs. Notably, these crafts are specially designed for short-range insertion and extraction of SOF. They can also be airdropped from a CH-47 helicopter and a C-17 transport aircraft.
