Aviation Force JTACS undertakes air operations throughout Europe to support regional security and stability.
Air Force JTAC soldiers integrated with Army and Marine forces on the frontlines while collaborating with Allies. Joint Terminal Air Controllers recognize and discriminate between friendly and enemy troops and direct combat aircraft’s activities through radio. From February to March, Saber Strike 22 was a multinational military exercise that brought together NATO Allies to practice essential capabilities in support of ground operations. Airmen from the United States served with Czech airmen to perform air defense training and provide close air support if hostile targets came too near to friendly troops. “It is critical that we integrate with our NATO colleagues to understand how we function,” Maj Gen. James Hodges, head of the Joint Tactical Air Corps, said (JTAC).
