Going back to civilian life is a second war for a military that is often more difficult than the first. Veterans are not safe from unemployment or the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rate of unemployment among veterans was 4.2 percent as of November 5, up from 3.9 percent the previous month. However, the rate is still higher than that of non-veterans looking for work (4.6 percent). Furthermore, according to the US Department of Labor, more than half of all unemployed veterans are between the ages of 25 and 54. A group of veterans formed the Joint Task Force 214 in response to this, with the goal of assisting successful troops in business.
