Turkey’s Navy has received its largest vessel, the TCG Anadolu, during a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and top military officials. The amphibious assault ship is Turkey’s first landing platform dock, with a fully loaded displacement of 27,436 tons and a length of 231 meters. The ship’s primary purpose is to serve as a platform for Turkish drones, including the TB-3 armed drone and the Kizilelma combat UAV. The vessel is capable of carrying a battalion-sized unit, eight utility helicopters, and three drones, as well as 150 vehicles. Turkey hopes to use the TCG Anadolu for military and humanitarian operations worldwide.
