The innovative TBI programs created by Home Base have specifically addressed the complex traumas sustained by veterans and members of our special operations forces, enabling them to reclaim their lives. Chronically ill service personnel who have battled for years may experience a 50% to 75% drop in their systems during the intense course of care. According to Dr. Hirschberg, therapies include physical therapy and regular exercise for de-stressing, developing skills, and repeatedly rewiring neural connections in the brain. According to Rand Corp research, the Department of Defense identified over 444,300 service members as having sustained at least one traumatic brain injury (TBI) while serving in the military.
