It is undeniable that Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most influential persons in the world today. Being the CEO of the most used social media, Facebook, gives him so much power, including how debates and elections are shaped. So how can we limit his power? According to Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), downsizing Facebook and Twitter could be one of the best ways. Specifically, restructuring the protection provided by Section 230 could be helpful. According to Section 230, Facebook and Twitter cannot be sued for libel based on third-party content, such as sponsored promotions or any libelous information contained in any of the billions of postings made on these platforms each month.
